About the Treatment

Mesopen Pro microneedling is a safe and minimally invasive treatment designed to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin fibres in the skin. Tiny medical-grade needles create controlled ‘wounds’ to the skin that promote the release of growth factors which leads to the synthesis of new collagen and elastin. Once these micro-channels have been created, the Mesopen Pro's unique Electroporation technology helps to increase the permeability of the cell membrane and delivers cosmetic preparations into the deeper layers of the skin for faster, more effective results.

What is Electroporation?

Recommended frequency:
For optimal results, a course of 5-10 treatments (depending on the area being targeted) at 2 - 6week intervals are advised. A customised treatment plan is recommended to achieve the best results for your skin.

Preparation:
Adhering to your preparation plan is key to achieving optimum results from your Skin Needling treatment. Your pre & post pack will be either 3 products ($109) or 5 products ($159) depending on your skin's condition and Fitzpatrick Skin Scale number.

P R E -T R E AT M E N T P R E PA R AT I O N S:

• Discontinue use of Retin A, Retinols, Vitamin A creams and other topical medications for 4 days before treatment.
• Daily Use of SPF 30+
• Tyrosinase inhibiters such as Skinstitut's Even Blend should be used for a minimum of 2 weeks prior to treatment for a Fitzpatrick 3 and higher.
• Avoid Laser, Cosmetic Injectables, Peels, Waxing, Depilatory Creams and IPL for 2 weeks prior.
• Series of 3 LED treatments is recommended to enhance results.

P O S T-T R E AT M E N T:

DO:
• Use recommended post treatment products for the following 4-7 days
• Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks
• Use SPF 30+ or higher daily after 12 hours
• Wash the face a few hours after treatment or before bedtime using a gentle cleanser and tepid water.
This will improve the appearance of the skin and also allow for better subsequent absorption of products applied to the treated area
• 12-24 hours post-treatment mineral makeup can be applied
• LED Treatments immediately after with Blue (415nm) and Near Infrared (830nm)) are recommended

DO NOT: Scrub, pick or rub your skin, as this can lead to scarring.

Recommended recovery:
Our Mesopen Pro allows skin to recover quickly with minimal downtime required. Immediately following your in-clinic treatment, your skin may appear reddened, as though you have mild to light sunburn. For some, skin might remain red and swollen for 2-3 days, but there should be no visible injury (like scabbing or lesions).

Aftercare:
Any redness and irritation will usually subside within 3-4 hours. For the first 48 hours, avoid excessive sun exposure, hot showers, swimming, saunas and strenuous exercise.

Use correct aftercare including gentle hydrating products such as the Skinstitut Gentle Cleanser, Normal Moisturiser, Rejuvenate 15 serum (contains copper peptides which can help accelerate wound healing).
